Ultrasound Fat Burning at the Lynton Clinic, Cheshire

We use the Promax Lipo system which contains ultrasound and radiofrequency. For fat loss we typically use the ultrasound part, though we may use some radiofrequency to enhance results, you may find that you also have some loose skin on the area or cellulite

What is ultrasound?

Ultrasound consists of sound waves at a frequency greater than that which we can hear (more than 20kHz) and greater than ultrasound used for medical scans (2-15mhz).

Our ProMax Lipo system uses low frequency ultrasound (36kHz) that causes cavitation which is used for fat reduction.

How does it work?

The ultrasound operates at at frequency that causes ‘Cavitation’. This is a process of bubble formation formed in water in the tissue. When the bubbles collapse, they emit shock waves and a micro jet of water, which selectively damages the films surrounding fat cells. This allows the fat to exit the cell.

At the same time, the ultrasound shakes up the fat cells to loosen thickened clumps and liquefy the fat, allowing it to be more easily transported out of the cell where it gets taken away and eliminated in our waste.

Is it safe?

It’s completely safe, and of course has been well tested for human use. There are a few contra-indications to treatment i.e pregnancy, diabetes but other than it has been used safely and successfully for many years.
