Radiofrequency (Promax Lipo) at the Lynton Clinic, Cheshire

Here at The Lynton Clinic we use the Promax facial skin tightening and contouring system.  It can be used on the face or body and is an ideal technology for people wanting to tighten skin, smooth out fine lines, and reduce cellulite

How does it Work?

Radiofrequency is a technology that has been around for over 10 years, and has been used in surgery. Radiofrequency uses radiowaves  which, when absorbed by the water in the skin, create energy which then turns into heat. This can then be used to help tighen the skin and or breakdown cellulite. It is completely safe and a very low risk treatment, with very little or no downtime. It is also very relaxing which is a bonus and its one of our most popular treatments.

How does it tighten the skin?

The heat produced is registered by the brain as a ‘thermal trauma’. This then stimulates all the cells that make collagen and elastin called ‘fibroblasts’. Over a course of treatments (usually 6 which takes 3-6 months) the collagen and elastin builds, firming and tightening the skin. To see the full impact it often does take around 6 months, however most people experience a slightly tighter firmer, brighter skin for a few days as the heat causes the skin to contract and tighten.

Who is is most suitable for? (FAQ) for loose skin face

This treatment is great for lower face, jowls and chins. It is also good for reducing fine to medium lines, especially good round the eyes, for crêpe skin, crow’s feet and droopy eyes. It can be used on its own or in combination with other laser and botox and fillers to maximise results. It will not ‘remove’ lines and wrinkles, it will soften them slightly. If you are concerned by deeper lines and wrinkles you may be more suited to fractional resurfacing or anti- wrinkle injections

How does it work on cellulite?

The heat will make the triglycerides in the fat cell softer so they can start to be broken down. The heat also brings blood to the area, which in turns brings nutrients. Cellulite often contains many toxins in the area due to the clustered fat cells. This helps with the removal of the softened fat and also with connective tissue which can be too short and pull the skin down making it look more ‘dimpled’. Finally it will stimulate some collagen and tighten the skin which will also help improve the appearance
