How does laser leg vessel removal work?leg vessel treatment

Laser emits light which is absorbed by blood vessels, heating them to point where they are destroyed. Following treatment, the vessels are cleared as they are reabsorbed by the body, leaving little or no trace of the original lesion.  During laser treatment a thin layer of chilled gel is applied to the skin to aid light absorption by the vessel.  The light is then traced over the entire vessel to be treated.  The chilled gel is removed and the area cooled. During the treatment, protective eyewear will be worn.

FAQ

+ How long do the results last?

Immediately after treatment some vessels will disappear and some will just be smaller. With further treatment many of vessels should shut down though you may find that not all will respond,  as some will be too tiny to work well. Others will work but could re-open due to the pressure of blood flow when standing up. This is the same with all treatments with leg vessels You may find that if you have a tendency to get them (possibly hereditary or lifestyle) you will get more again in the future.

+ Will leg vessel treatment hurt?

Treatment is mildly uncomfortable but there is no need for anesthesia and the procedure is actually quite quick.  Sensations vary but most people describe it as a very quick, hot pin prick. Throughout treatment we do use plenty of cooling to help reduce any discomfort that could be felt.

+ How long does each treatment take?

Treatment is relatively quick and you can be finished with 30-45minutes.

+ How many treatments will I need?

Typically 2 to 4 treatments are needed for maximum results, though small lesions may clear in just a single session.  Repeat sessions are spaced every 8 to 10 weeks.
